When a Charlotte-area couple began creating a nursery for their young son, they knew that they wanted something inspired by the water. The couple lives in a lakefront home and enjoys snorkeling, deep sea fishing, and boating.

They turned to CK Paints' Casey and Tom Kilgore for help. Casey and Tom have been designing playrooms and nurseries in Charlotte for more than three years and they had lots of aquatic ideas for the couple. "The first step in the process was an initial consultation with the couple to view the room and get their ideas and taste for colors and subject matter," said Casey.

"They wanted something that conveyed their love for the water, an aquatic, nautical theme - a room where you would step into another world."

Another world is just what they got. After weeks of work, the baby's room was transformed into an underwater world, complete with murals on all four walls and the ceiling. Visit it and you'll find sand, coral, sea grasses and fish living near the floor. High above you'll find the surface of the sea, complete with the underside of a boat and swimming dolphins. More than thirty different species of water creatures swim and play in the colorful room.

The couple complemented the fantastic paintings with furniture and accessories from Bellini. But, it's the murals that really amazed these proud parents. "We were so impressed with Tom & Casey. They worked with us and made the room perfect."
